The Learning Circle

After John was imprisoned, Jesus began his ministry in Galilee, proclaiming the arrival of God's Kingdom and urging people to repent and believe the good news. This marks a Kairos moment, a significant event where time stands still and signals a divine opportunity. Unlike chronos, which refers to chronological time, kairos represents these impactful moments that provoke strong emotional responses and can happen through various experiences, such as reading scripture or feeling a sudden conviction.

The Learning Circle is a tool designed to help us recognize and respond to these Kairos moments. It involves two main actions: repent and believe. Repenting means turning away from lesser things and aligning with God's will, while believing involves taking action based on faith. The process starts with observing what God is saying, reflecting on its meaning, discussing with others for clarity, planning actionable steps, seeking accountability, and finally, acting on the plan.

Repentance starts with observation and reflection to identify what God is saying. This is followed by discussing these insights with a trusted believer, which helps clarify thoughts and opens the door to true repentance and change. It's essential to move beyond mere observation and reflection to avoid stagnation. The ultimate goal is to shift towards belief, which involves making a concrete plan and taking deliberate actions to align with God's guidance.

Believing entails planning specific actions to follow Jesus more closely and involves accountability to ensure follow-through. Acting on these plans solidifies the learning process and promotes spiritual growth. The Learning Circle emphasizes the importance of humility and support within a community, as seen in scriptural examples where disciples learned and acted upon Jesus' teachings. This method ensures that responses to Kairos moments lead to genuine transformation and deeper discipleship.
